Virat Kohli ensured India took a 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series against West Indies as he struck an unbeaten 94-run knock in the match hosted by Hyderabad. Chasing 208 to win, Kohli crawled to his first 25 runs at run-a-ball strike rate. However, from the halfway stage, he took charge of the chase scoring regular boundaries. He scored 94 from 50 deliveries with six fours and as many maximums. Kohli’s efforts helped India chase down the target with 8 balls to spare.

5 – Virat Kohli has been unbeaten in five successful T20I chases while leading the Indian team. These are the joint 2nd most unbeaten knocks by any skipper in successful T20I chases. MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 12 occasions when leading the team while George Bailey and Eoin Morgan were also unbeaten five times.
7 – Number of fifty-plus scores as captain for Virat Kohli in T20I cricket; the joint 2nd most by any player.
