Indian cricket fan tries to troll Pakistan; ICC trolls him back
An Indian fan, Rahul Jaiswal tried to be clever and attempted to troll the Pakistani cricket team.
In yesterday’s match of the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup, Pakistan were handed a narrow defeat by the West Indies via D/L method. After being put into bat first, the Windies gave a good account of themselves and hauled up a total of 285 in their stipulated 50 overs.
Captain Stefanie Taylor, who scored 90 off 107 balls, and all-rounder Deandre Dottin, who notched up her maiden hundred and remained unbeaten on 104 off just 76 balls, did the star turn for the Windies. Chedean Nation and Merissa Aguilleira chipped in as well.
In reply, Pakistan were going steady at 117/3 after 24 overs when rain played spoilsport. At that time, Javeria Khan, who was looking in goo touch, was batting on 58. However, a wicket off the final ball of the 24th over plummeted the par score to 136. Play could not be resumed and Pakistan suffered their sixth consecutive loss at the World Cup.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) put up a few pictures of Dottin and Taylor smashing the ball at the halfway mark on their Facebook page, congratulating Dottin on her maiden century. An Indian fan, Rahul Jaiswal tried to be clever and attempted to troll the Pakistani cricket team. He commented: “Dear ICC…. Stop These Pakistan team to invite in WC bcz they still don’t deserve it,” followed by three smiley emoticons.
ICC’s classic reply
Whoever was looking after ICC’s social media page, however, had the perfect reply. He posted the picture of the victorious Pakistan men’s team that won the ICC Champions Trophy just a month back with the comment: “You mean these guys?”
Earlier last month, the Indian men’s team were comprehensively beaten by Pakistan in the final of the Champions Trophy. Now, bear in mind, Virat Kohli and Co were clear favourites going into the final. However, the match saw a different story unfold. Fakhar Zaman’s century helped Pakistan put up a competitive total on the board. The Indians, in reply, had slumped.
