Rohit Sharma became the first IPL captain to win three titles when his MI beat RPS by a solitary run in a thrilling final in Hyderabad. Steven Smith, on the other hand, missed out from becoming the fourth Australian to lift an IPL trophy. This edition also saw opening ceremonies at each venue of the tournament instead of just one event.

Highest scorer: SRH captain David Warner finished as the highest scorer yet again. This time, he gathered 641 runs from 14 innings at an average of 58.27.

Highest wicket-taker: SRH’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked 26 wickets in 14 innings with the best bowling figure of 5 for 19 to win the purple cap for the second successive year.

Most number of sixes: KXIP’s Maxwell topped the list again, hitting 26 sixes in 13 innings, though the number was less compared to the past editions. Warner also hit the same number of sixes though he took an innings more.

Highest individual score: Warner’s 126 against KKR was the highest individual score.

Best bowling figure: GL’s Andrew Tye picked 5 for 17 against RPS and it was recorded as the best bowling figure of IPL X.

Best bowling average: Tye also had the best bowling average of 11.75 in 6 matches in IPL 2017 .

Highest team score: RCB scored 248 for 3 in 20 overs against GL in Bengaluru. It is the second-highest team score in the history of the IPL.

Lowest team score: RCB 49 all out versus KKR in Kolkata.

Biggest victory (by runs): MI beat DD by 146 runs in Delhi. This is the biggest-ever win in terms of runs in IPL.

Smallest victory (by runs): MI beat RPS by 1 run in the final in Hyderabad.

Player of the series: RPS’s Ben Stokes, a hard-hitting all-rounder, was picked as the man of the series with 316 runs and 12 wickets in 2 matches.

Player of the series: RCB captain Kohli was picked for his superhuman form in this season (973 runs, including four hundreds).
