It's not just the youngsters who are shining in the IPL
The IPL is considered to be a breeding ground for several youngsters from India as well overseas. There have been so many who have gone on to represent their national sides after shining in the tournament. Every year, the tournament produces numerous youngsters who have the potential to compete on the biggest stage. Even though the league provides the opportunities for the young guns but it is not limited to just them.
IPL has also proved to be an excellent platform for some of the older players to test themselves amongst the younger generations. Such players bring in the experience that adds to the beauty of the tournament. The experience is worth its weight in gold in the shortest format of the game and is literally irreplaceable. This year as well, there have been some outstanding performances from the players who are in their thirties.

#1 David Warner – 30 years
The captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad was instrumental in his side’s triumph last year and finished as the second highest run-getter of the league. This year as well, he continued from where he had left and has been magnificent with the bat once more. He is the current Orange Cap holder in the league with 459 runs in 9 matches at an astonishing average of 65.57 and a strike rate of 150.99. He has scored three half-centuries and a hundred and continues to lead his side from the front.
#2 Gautam Gambhir – 35 years
Kolkata Knight Riders’ captain Gautam Gambhir has been a key member of the squad for a number of years and has scored heavily up the order and also led the side to two IPL trophies. This year, he has looked in an ominous touch and has amassed 387 runs in 10 matches at an average of 55.29. He has struck the most number of fours so far in the league and has as many as 51 fours to his name. The left-hander has scored 4 fifties so far and has provided great starts to KKR more often than not.
