IPL 10 : Under 25 players who grabbed the spotlight
Many young players have performed exceptionally well in the recently concluded IPL
Indian Premier League has always been a platform where young cricketers prove their talent. The raw talents hidden in various regions are unearthed and their capability is showcased in front of millions of fans. It has been since its inception when a certain Swapnil Asnodkar from Goa grabbed the limelight while playing for Shane Warne-led team Rajasthan Royals.
This year also was no different from the rest. The decade-long tradition of finding new players was continued. Many new names added to the emerging players’ list. A lot of new and young talents fought hand-in-hand with international superstars for their team. Many under-25 players, whom many didn’t know before the tournament, performed exceptionally well in the tournament. Also, well-known young players who have already represented their countries performed up to their reputation.
Here are some of the U-25 players who grabbed the spotlight:
#1 Nitish Rana
Mumbai Indians is one of the most settled sides of IPL. They don’t change their playing XI much. But Nitish Rana caused a stir in their more or less settled XI. The Delhi-based left-handed batsman was given 17 matches this season because of his stellar knocks. In those 13 chances, he has handsomely scored 333 runs, averaging more than 30 runs per game.
His strike rate was also impressive as it was over 125. He struck three wonderful fifties this year and has made it to our list of “U25 players who grabbed the spotlight”.
