IPL 2018: A Grand homecoming for Chennai Super Kings after title triumph
The franchise put aside all the emotions and displayed a professional performance on the field
Just when people thought that the Chennai Super Kings glory days are over, the team comes back with more. The franchise surprised everyone with their strategy at the auctions but the management knew what it was doing and had a good idea of what it takes to win the Indian Premier League. The team was back after a gap of two years and needed to give something back to the fans for maintaining the loyalty with the franchise. The fans got more than what they had asked for as CSK raced away with their third IPL title.
Chepauk was the original home venue for the franchise but due to political issues and security reasons, the games were moved away and Pune was chosen as the new home venue. The most impressing thing is the fact that Chennai Super Kings had picked the team to do well in Cheapuk but managed to win the title in spite of shift in the venue. The summit clash was played on May 27 at the Wankhede where they absolutely hammered the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets.
Repaying the love shown by the fans
After the win, the franchise decided to head back to Chennai to celebrate the win at home. The fans were excited to see the players and they received a grand welcome at the Chennai Airport. A video of the players being welcomed in Chennai was posted in the official twitter handle of the franchise. The crowd went berserk after seeing their favourite players bring the title home.
All the players played a key role in the victory as different individuals stood up on different occasions to bail their team out. It was a team effort from CSK and they were clearly the best side of the tournament. Their batting looked strong throughout their tournament while their bowling was a little off colour in the beginning. But MS Dhoni figured out the right combination at the perfect moment and led the side in great fashion. CSK 2.0 looked as good as CSK 1.0.
