IPL 2018: AB de Villiers thrilled after a resounding win over KXIP

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have rocked the points table with a perfect outing against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Monday. They thrashed the hosts by 10 wickets after bundling them out in less than 16 overs for the meagre total of 88 runs. The bowlers were absolutely fantastic which was ably supported by fielding and then Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel aced the chase with utter ease. However, AB de Villiers was thrilled after the most clinical performance of the team and was already looking forward to their next game.

While the jam-packed crowd of Holkar Cricket Stadium was expecting a Gayle storm to arrive on a flat deck which had witnessed 459 runs scored in 40 overs just a couple of days ago, all went wrong for Punjab with the bat. Umesh Yadav was the wrecker-in-chief as he removed the opening duo of Chris Gayle and KL Rahul and the rest of the team just crumbled under pressure. Even the fielding of the team was of top-class in the game as they affected three run-outs of the lower-order batsmen.

Special shoutout for the bowlers

RCB can now have a real shot at the playoffs as their net run-rate is boosted after a huge victory and AB de Villiers was delighted over the same fact. He also had some special words for the bowlers who were absolutely brilliant with their lines and lengths as they bowled to the field and according to the plan.

“What a Game! What a win this evening against the KXIP, special shoutout to the RCB bowlers on an incredible opening innings! Looking forward to our next game back home at the Chinnaswamy!” he said on his official Android app ‘AB 17’. RCB will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 17 in front of their home crowd. If they manage to win their next two games and a few results go their way, RCB can sneak into the playoffs as the fourth team.
