IPL 2018: Age never a barrier, says Dwayne Bravo
Dwayne Bravo, who has provided CSK with some memorable wins in the last two games praised MS Dhoni and Chris Gayle for their knocks.
The Chennai Super Kings lost their first game in the 11th edition of IPL against KXIP. Yet again, the game went down to the last over with CSK being on the other side of the result. KXIP was put into bat first by CSK. They scored 197 in their 20 overs with some brilliant knocks from Chris Gayle and KL Rahul. A depleted CSK side lost early wickets in the powerplay in a high-intensity chase.
At one stage of the game, it looked as if there wasn’t a great chance for CSK to win the game. The Chennai boys found it found to get going in the middle overs and couldn’t get the big shots going. Furthermore, to add to their woes, Ambati Rayudu who was looking good got out at the wrong time. Also, Jadeja who came in to bat ahead of Dwayne Bravo couldn’t really get going.
MS Dhoni – The man for all the seasons
Just as it was looking tough for CSK to get over the line, MS Dhoni took things under his control. MS who has had a slow start didn’t manage to get the big shots early on. However, he completely turned the tides as the required run rate was getting out of reach. Although he suffered a back injury, MS didn’t give up and battled hard in the run chase. He shifted the pressure back onto the KXIP bowlers and was looking good to take his team through.
However, he couldn’t take his team past the line as CSK fell short by just 4 runs. MSD’s back injury didn’t allow him to hit the balls that were bowled wide outside the off-stump. Despite the loss, CSK’s Dwayne Bravo seemed impressed with the performance. He praised heaps on MS Dhoni and Chris Gayle for their knocks. Dwayne Bravo also said that age was never a barrier as long as the passion to play the game is there.
“Not the results we wanted today but a special knock from our cpt @mahi7781 and the universe boss @chrisgayle333 some ppl might talk about their age but as long these two men still playing they will always be the best it have #RunDWorld #Champion,” wrote Dwayne Bravo on Instagram.
