Mumbai Indians continued their streak of losing games in the final over as Delhi Daredevils defeated the home team by seven wickets to register their first win of the season. The MI’s top order provided fireworks by scoring 84 runs in the powerplay but only 35 runs came from the final five overs. Jason Roy, playing his first game of the season, took on the home team’s spinner in the 195-run chase. Contributions from Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer helped Roy to take DD over the line with an unbeaten 91-run knock.

3 – Each of Mumbai Indians’ top three Surya Kumar Yadav (53), Evin Lewis (48) and Ishan Kishan (44) cross 40. This is the first time where MI’s top three players scored 40 and more in an IPL inning
5 – Mumbai Indians have lost five of their last six IPL games they played at the Wankhede. This is also the 2nd win in seven IPL matches for Delhi Daredevils against MI at the Wankhede.
84/0 – Mumbai Indians’ total of 84 runs in the first six overs are the most they made in the mandatory powerplay in an IPL game. They made 82/1 against Kings XI Punjab in the last year’s game in Indore.
91* – Jason Roy’s unbeaten 91 is the 2nd highest individual score while chasing against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede. Adam Gilchrist scored an unbeaten 109 for Deccan Chargers in the opening season.
102 – The 102-run opening stand between Evin Lewis and Surya Kumar Yadav is the 6th century opening stand for Mumbai Indians and also the first at the Wankhede. Their previous highest opening stand in the IPL at home was 99 against KXIP last year.
