IPL 2018: Muthoot Group partners up with Chennai Super Kings
In the official press release which was released in Kochi on February 10, 2018, the business conglomerate announced their three year deal with the Super Kings.
The 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to get underway in a couple of months. The franchises have their squads picked and sorted at the auctions. And now, the teams are partnering up with sponsors. In a recent update, the Muthoot Group, one of India’s leading business conglomerates, announced that they will be partnering up with the Chennai Super Kings as the Principal Team Partner.
This, in essence, means that the CSK franchise have found their prime sponsor for the tournament. The jersey of the CSK team will sport the logo of the Muthoot Group. In the official press release which was released in Kochi on February 10, 2018, the business conglomerate announced their three year deal with the Super Kings. Mr. Alexander George Muthoot, Deputy Managing Director, The Muthoot Group, conceded that the game of cricket is one of the most popular sport in the country.
He cited that the Muthoot Group has promoted different sporting events over the years, and this is just another addition to their support to the sports. Furthermore, he expressed his happiness at being associated with a franchise that has one of the most iconic leaders of all time in the sport, MS Dhoni.
“Cricket is one of the popular and most watched sports in India. With the IPL completing 10 years, it has got bigger and better with each year. We have always been in the forefront in sports promotion and celebrate sportsmanship as we have done with several other sports disciplines in the past like football (through Indian Super League), Kabaddi (through Pro-Kabaddi League) and also partnered with IPL previously (with Delhi Daredevils for 4 years),” he quoted.
“It gives us immense pleasure to be associated with Chennai Super Kings being led by a legendary captain in Mahendra Singh Dhoni. This association will help us engage with cricket fans across the nation irrespective of which team they support,” he added further.
CSK happy to partner up with Muthoot
Meanwhile, the CEO of the Chennai Super Kings, Mr. KS Viswanathan, also expressed his delight at partnering up with Muthoot Group. He remarked that the conglomerate has been a trusted company for over a 100 years. They have more than 4500 branches. He believes that the association of such a big name with the franchise will be a big boost to the Chennai camp.
