IPL 2018, Week 5, Review - Best XI of the Week
Here is a look at the top performers of the week 5 of IPL 2018.
The 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League is nearing the business end of the tournament. With the playoffs coming close, the race for the same is getting intense. The teams are desperate to bag the final points to squeeze their way through to the playoffs of IPL 2018. In the recently concluded week of the tournament, a lot of things churned up and down in the points table.
The consistent run of the Sunrisers Hyderabad saw them surge to the top of the points table. With their recent win against the Delhi Daredevils, they have managed to qualify for the playoffs. At the same time, the defeat in the very same game has ensured that the Daredevils will not make it to the final four this year. Furthermore, the defending champions Mumbai Indians have started blooming big time as well.
They have moved to the top four in the points table with their consistent run. Certainly, all these changes would not have been possible without some individual brilliance that lifted the team spirits. Here we look at such impactful players from the fifth week of the IPL who have made a serious impression on the points table in the past week of the IPL 2018.
Here is the Best XI of the fifth week of IPL:
1. KL Rahul – Kings XI Punjab
KL Rahul has been the most successful batsman for the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2018. In the past week, Rahul missed out on his century twice. And on both occasions, the bowlers at the receiving end were the Rajasthan Royals bowlers.
In the game at Indore, Rahul remained unbeaten on 84 off 54 deliveries to steer his side to a 6 wicket win. In the reverse fixture at Jaipur, the hard hitting opener was left stranded on 95 off 70 deliveries as his team fell short by 15 runs in the run chase. He is certainly looking like a top contender for the Orange Cap this season.
