IPL 2018, Week 3: Top Five Expensive Fails of the Week
The IPL has seen no shortage of cash-flow while a few big players have disappointed so far.
5. Virat Kohli (retained for 17 Cr)
The highest paid player in the history of IPL, Virat Kohli, finds himself in an unfavourable situation both as a captain and a batsman. Royal Challengers Bangalore are looming in the bottom half of the points table with 2 wins in 6 games and still have major loopholes in their Playing XI after nearly half the season-ending. He played an unbeaten 92-run-knock against Mumbai Indians which ended up on the losing side and scored a 57 against Rajasthan Royals before that but that too ended up in the losing cause.
It is safe to say that it is not fair to expect so much of Kohli just because his team is so heavily dependent on him but he himself agrees that the 30-run contribution against Delhi Daredevils for him was far more good news than his 92-run-knock against MI. The reason? The result. RCB won the match against Delhi, courtesy an ABD blitz. It can also be said that Trent Boult’s catch was worthy of that wicket. However, his lack of runs against CSK would now be playing on his mind to put on that cape and have a noteworthy contribution that ends in the winning cause.
