Chennai Super Kings have a formidable opening pair in the form of Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson. With the kind of results that these two have extracted, they need not look far beyond for another option. However, there are enough reasons for them to keep a close watch on Hazratullah Zazai.
Watson is an uncertainty to play IPL 2019 with the age and fitness, not on his side. Even if he plays, he might require rest in the middle given the hectic schedules and the fatigue of travelling. Faf du Plessis, who is the South African skipper might not be available for the entire tournament given that the World Cup will be just around. Hence, CSK might fancy having this Afghanistan player in their side.
