Leg spinners are ruling the roost in T20 cricket even limited-overs cricket to a large extent and it is the same in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019. Every franchise has at least two quality wrist spinners in their team and most of them do not think twice before playing more than one in a match. A similar thing was seen when Sunrisers Hyderabad took on table-toppers Chennai Super Kings on April 17.

CSK employed two leggies in their team in Imran Tahir and Karn Sharma, while SRH is already enjoying the services of Afghanistan sensation Rashid Khan. Both Rashid and Tahir have been amazing in this edition of the IPL and it was the SRH leg spinner, who helped his team defeat MS Dhoni-less CSK, by picking wickets of Suresh Raina, the stand-in captain and Kedar Jadhav in the same over, as CSK only managed 132 runs on the board, batting first.

Both the leg-spinners are known for their passionate celebrations after picking wicket, especially Tahir, who even at the age of 40, is known for running everywhere on the ground to celebrate. Rashid is more precise in his celebrations and after the match, the duo was seen discussing their celebrations.

Tahir and Rashid reveal reasons behind celebrations

“I want to thank the almighty for making me capable enough so that I can play in such a big league like this. And playing with a brother like you (Rashid). You play against world-class players and perform well; it gives me happiness. So, I show my happiness with that celebration. Neither my family nor I know what I do with that celebration,” Tahir told Rashid in a video posted by iplt20.com.

20-year-old Rashid is known for his finger twirling celebrations, something that didn’t happen when he dismissed Raina and Jadhav in the same over.

“If it’s bowled or caught behind then I do that celebration. I did not get the chance today as both the wickets were off reviews. There was a 50-50 chance so I couldn’t do the celebration. But I always try to celebrate that way every time I get a wicket because my nephews like it and they ask me to do that celebration,” Rashid was quoted as saying in the video.

Rashid further revealed a piece of funny advice that his Afghanistan teammate Wafadar Momand had given him in a game. “Wafadar told me, ‘I will pray to god that you don’t get dismissed by Imran Tahir because he will get you out first and then make you run till your home’,” he joked.
