David Miller first came into prominence when he scored a breathtaking hundred against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mohali in 2012. It was a critical period in Punjab’s campaign and with the target running away from them, Miller played a whirlwind of a knock, scoring a hundred off just 38 deliveries and helped Punjab register one of their most memorable wins.

His role once again was crucial in the 2014 season, where he received great support from Glenn Maxwell and George Bailey in the batting lineup as Punjab reached the final, but lost to Kolkata. He has been there with the side ever since, even captaining them for a season. The last few seasons have not been great for him and it has reflected in the side’s results as well.

His presence in the side has been important, but not so productive these days. Henceforth, in the coming auction, they might be looking for other options to replace him.

Here are the five possible replacements available for David Miller in IPL 2020 Auction

1. Eoin Morgan

Perhaps the best suited for this position for Kings XI, they could go back to one of their former players in Eoin Morgan in this crisis period. Morgan doesn’t just solve their middle-order problems, but he also provides his invaluable leadership presence for the team. With Ravichandran Ashwin rumored to sign up with Delhi, this signing could make a lot of sense.

Morgan was a part of Punjab in 2017 and after that season, he didn’t find buyers in the next couple of seasons. With the English captain in great demand after the World Cup triumph in 2019, it will come as a humongous surprise if he goes unsold once again.

Morgan provides the exact stability and firepower Miller provided for many years. He can play the aggressor and also take a backseat to settle up situations in critical times. Despite not playing a lot of T20 cricket recently, Morgan will definitely be a useful prospect for Punjab.
