IPL 2020 Auction: 5 players Mumbai Indians (MI) can target
Mumbai Indians have released as many as 12 players, which includes notable names like Yuvraj Singh, Adam Milne, Jason Behrendorff, Beuran Hendricks and Ben Cutting.
Jimmy Neesham
Nothing pains a cricketer more than an unfulfilled potential. New Zealand’s Jimmy Neesham has all the ingredients to become a T20 phenomenon but unfortunately, his potential didn’t convert into performance.
The hard-hitting southpaw and a pretty good fast bowler was purchased by Delhi Daredevils in the 2014 IPL auctions where he featured in just four games in that season. He was statistically poor in numbers as he could garner only 42 runs with the bat at a below-par strike rate of under 100 and picked just one wicket to his name.
In the wake of his flop shows, he was released by the franchise. He was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2015. Just as when he thought he would make up for the poor performance in the league, tragedy then soon followed him around like a shadow as he did not play even a single game for the franchise. He was warming the bench and has never been seen in the world’s premier tournament since.
With injury concerns looming large over Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians may consider roping Neesham for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The 29-year-old all-rounder has set his base price at INR 50 lakh.
