The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) search for the new title sponsors for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League scheduled to start from September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had ended on Dream11, a start-up pioneered by two Indian entrepreneurs.

Dream 11 was roped in after Vivo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, had suspended its contract for this year’s title sponsorship following a public backlash against Chinese companies. The fantasy sports platform had won the bid against companies like BYJU’s and Unacademy by quoting the highest amount of Rs. 222 crores for the 2020 edition of the T20 Championship.

With the league less than a week away, Dream 11 released its promotional song on Tuesday (September 15). The anthem is titled as “Yeh Apna Game hai” and features Chennai Super Kings’ skipper MS Dhoni, Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma, pacer Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Delhi Capitals’ swashbuckling batsmen Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant can also be seen making an appearance in the video.

The song is based on the theme, “Yahan Sab same hai” and all the Indian veterans can be seen playing gully cricket. The song encapsulates that cricket is more popular as a gully sport where all make their own rules and play together. The promotional song gives a message that due to the pandemic the citizens can’t play gully cricket anymore but they can definitely play the sport online by making their own teams through the Dream11 platform.
