IPL 2020: Match 51, DC vs MI – MI Predicted Playing XI

With Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thrashing the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 6 wickets in a last-over thriller, the Mumbai Indians (MI) have automatically qualified for the next stage.

Though MI suffered a couple of losses in their last four fixtures, they are coming to face the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday at Dubai, after a convincing 5-wicket win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Despite missing their mainstay Rohit Sharma, the team have ensured to not go off-balance and have different players, who have continued to step up constantly. With their qualification confirmed, MI would want to build a winning momentum before moving into the decisive stage of the tournament.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Mumbai Indians (MI) for DC vs MI game: – 

Openers: Ishan Kishan, Quinton de Kock (WK)

Quinton de Kock has been in blistering form for his team throughout the season, although he did not look at his best in the last outing. Striking under 100, de Kock struggled to get into the rhythm and managed only 18 runs off 19 balls.

In Rohit Sharma’s absence, the opening duties have been thrown to Ishan Kishan, who was performing well in the middle-order previously. Kishan has responded well, however, much like his partner, he, too, failed to make his last outing count.

The southpaw slapped three boundaries and six and got off to a good start, though he failed to convert it. With no confirmation yet on Sharma’s injury, these two will continue to perform the opening duties for the team.

Middle Order: Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Hardik Pandya

Suryakumar Yadav, who was ignored for India’s tour of Australia, has been a vital cog of the MI’s batting order. Displaying his class in the last game, Yadav played a match-defining knock of 79 runs off just 43, which included 10 fours and 3 sixes.

On the other hand, Saurabh Tiwary, who has made his way in the team after Kishan’s promotion, has not been able to contribute too much in the middle-order.

He was dismissed cheaply last time and would want to get amongst the runs this time around. Hardik Pandya will be on his finishing duties.

All-Rounders: Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya

Kieron Pollard didn’t have much to do with the bat in the last game as he came in by the time Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya had almost accomplished the task already.

With the ball, though, he bowled a solitary over and managed to get the crucial wicket of AB de Villiers, which made a huge impact on the game in the hindsight. Krunal Pandya was promoted ahead of his younger brother in the order, although he was unable to make an impact.

Bowlers: James Pattinson, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Rahul Chahar

Jasprit Bumrah (20 wickets), Trent Boult (17 wickets), and James Pattinson (11 wickets) have been lethal both upfront and at the death whereas the spin duo of Rahul Chahar (14 wickets) and Krunal (5 wickets) has provided decent support in the middle overs.

Leg-spin bowler Rahul Chahar has been quite impressive and has bowled fearlessly, though he was unable to keep a tap on the scoring and gave away 43 runs. But he got the wicket of Josh Philippe.
