IPL 2020: Match 9, RR vs KXIP- KXIP Predicted Playing XI
Both teams are coming off thumping victories and must be brimming with oomph and exuberence.
The ninth match of IPL 2020 is going to take place between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sharjah on September 27. Both the teams will be setting the stage on fire with their high-spirited attitude owing to victories in their respective last games.
The Royals clinched the game in their favour by getting dominant over three-times champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the last match. On the other hand, KXIP stunned RCB, winning the game by 97 runs. There couldn’t have been a better thing than watching KL Rahul’s scintillating performance in the last match.
On the back of his unbeaten knock of 132 runs, the team saw a huge triumph against opponents. With most of the players performing decently well, there aren’t many changes expected in their elevn for the next match.
Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Kings XI Punjab for RR vs KXIP game: –
Openers (KL Rahul, Chris Gayle)
The skipper KL Rahul is always there to play his roles well for the team. His performance in the last outing has shocked fans around the world, and he is expected to produce the same thunder throughout the IPL. He is most likely to be part of the playing XI of Punjab.
One of the most dangerous and explosive hitters of the T20 cricket, Chtis Gayle, is with Kings XI Punjab. It was stated earlier that he will be back in the team at the correct time, and the apt moment might be here. It is expected that Gayle will open along with the skipper to provide a rocking base to the team in Sharjah.
Middle-Order (Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, Sarfaraz Khan)
Mayank Agarwal put up a great batting show in front of the Delhi Capitals and almost took his team to victory. But the game slipped into the Super Over, and his team had to lose the contest from there. He is most likely to be part of the Punjab eleven in the next game and provide strength to the middle-order if Gayle opens up the order.
Though Karun Nair hasn’t made a mark in this year’s IPL journey but he is expected to fare well in the upcoming games. Seeing his earlier records, he is expected to provide some base to the team in the middle-order. Hence he may again land up in the playing XI of Punjab in the next match.
Sarfaraz Khan hasn’t gathered much in his account in this year’s IPL journey but is expected to carry decent potential. He is likely to be part of the playing XI of the Punjab team in their next outing against the Rajasthan Royals. He didn’t even feature in all the matches of IPL last year.
All-rounders (Glenn Maxwell, James Neesham)
Glenn Maxwell hasn’t been at his usual best in the IPL 2020 journey so far but is expected to make a great comeback. Punjab cannot forget his thunderous season in the year 2014, where they made the finals. Having capacities with both bat and ball, he is most likely to be part of the playing XI of his side.
James Neesham was decent in his last outing with Kings XI Punjab. Having made his comeback to the IPL after six long years, he is expected to shine at some point of time for his squad. Having capacities with both and ball, he can be the part of playing XI against Steve Smith’s Royals.
Bowlers (Mohammed Shami, Ravi Bishnoi, Sheldon Cottrell, and Murugan Ashwin)
Mohammed Shami has been shining perfectly in IPL 2020; he has been one constant performing bowler for his squad. In the match against DC, he even achieved his best figures of 3/15. He is most likely to be part of Punjab’s playing XI against RR and provide strength to his team.
Young Ravi Bishnoi is making his debut in IPL 2020 season and has been performing well with the ball. In his first match, he named one scalp to his credit, and in the last match, he stunned opponents by plucking three wickets. The young man will most likely be part of Punjab’s playing XI.
Cottrell scalped two wickets while Murugan Ashwin marked his success by plucking three wickets in Punjab’s last match against RCB. The duo maintained a great economy in their last outings and is most likely to form part of Punjab’s playing XI in the next match against Rajasthan. Cottrell has marked his IPL debut this season and was equally good in his first match against DC.
