It was a tale of two halves for Rajasthan Royals (RR) all-rounder Rahul Tewatia on Sunday. In a steep chase of 224 against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), the left-hander, after being promoted to number four, was immensely struggling with a strike-rate of less than 50 at one stage. No doubt, the commentators, fans and experts were questioning even his existence in the middle and slamming the RR management for the move.

To make things worse, a set Sanju Samson got out in the 17th over in a bid to up the ante with no runs coming from the other end. At one stage, Samson had denied Tewatia a single as well to face a full over from a spinner. Such was the situation of the all-rounder’s batting. However, everything changed in a space of six deliveries. The 18th over of the innings bowled by Sheldon Cottrell saw Rahul Tewatia hitting as many as five sixes.

He middle one ball and then kept on hitting maximums at will to leave literally everyone dumbstruck. And then he went on to win the match for his team scoring 53 off just 31 deliveries. He had taught all a life lesson of not writing off anyone and also to not give up at any stage in life.

No wonder Rahul Tewatia was a superstar overnight and suddenly people are now interested in his cricketing journey. His Twitter followers have also shot up dramatically and like Jofra Archer, his old tweets are going viral as well. Amidst all this, the cricketer has come up with cryptic tweet apologising his followers for being a bit late.

What is the meaning of Rahul Tewatia’s latest tweet?

Some might not get the meaning of this tweet. Rahul Tewatia is actually taking a cheeky dig at everyone for arriving late on Twitter like he did it with his batting the other day when all wrote him off. Interestingly, this is also his first tweet since October 2018 and after his latest heroics, the 27-year-old might have decided to be more active on social media now.
