IPL 2020: Team-wise one player who might not get a single game
With several cricketers waiting to grab that opportunity, the chance of getting a game for a few players becomes very tough.
8. Sherfane Rutherford (Mumbai Indians)
Mumbai Indians is the most successful IPL franchise of all time. The team looks one of the strongest in this season of the tournament as well. The defending champions are known to find some extraordinary talents like Jasprit Bumrah and Pandya brothers, but their international players are also second to none.
Sherfane Rutherford is roped in by the Mumbai franchise through a trade deal with Delhi Capitals. The Caribbean allrounder gives captain Rohit Sharma another option with is pace bowling and ability to hit the long ball lower down the order. But Rutherford might not get an opportunity to illustrate how useful he could be for Mumbai Indians.
The team already has Kieron Pollard and Pandya brothers as all-round options who are quite settled in the team. With a complicated choice to make between Lasith Malinga and Trent Boult, Mumbai Indians team management will not go for the Caribbean allrounder to change the entire combination. This makes it extremely doubtful for the all-rounder to feature in any of the games and he might just stay in the dressing room for the entire tournament.
