Ankit Rajpoot belongs to that group of players who had the potential to make a name for themselves but they failed to do so. He was highly rated by the former pacer, Venkatesh Prasad, who was his bowling coach for two domestic seasons. Initially, Rajpoot was a part of a strong CSK squad in 2013 and 2014. Well, it was very difficult for him to get into the squad. The only positive for him was the quality time he used to spend with Australian legend Andy Bichel.

During the 2016 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Rajpoot was the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He took 14 wickets in the season with an average of 14.21. In the very same year, he was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 1.5 crores! During that time, he had a poor IPL season as he never got into the playing eleven regularly. With only 3 wickets, he was eventually dropped.

Rajpoot was never able to make it into a playing eleven regularly. He has picked up 24 wickets in his career. Well, despite being a talented pacer, he was unsold this auction. Therefore, he makes it to this list of 5 domestic star players who didn’t get a bid in the IPL 2021 auction.
