Kolkata Knight Riders will fight for survival as they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 49 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The encounter takes place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (October 3). With SRH being out of the playoff race, they have nothing but pride to play for in the remaining tournament. However, they won’t mind denting other teams’ campaigns in the process.

As far as KKR are concerned, they have all to play for. A defeat in this encounter would see them getting knocked out of the playoff race. With Sunrisers Hyderabad’s line-up being far from settled, the two-time champions might take the field as favourites. However, they seem to have lost momentum in the last few games. One of the major reasons for that is Andre Russell’s injury.

His absence has really hurt the team combination. Skipper Eoin Morgan has also endured a hard time. Hence, KKR have multiple areas to look upon. On the other hand, SRH will play without any pressure and it can bring the best out of them. Players like Jason Roy, Rashid Khan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are proven stars of this format. Hence, one can expect some action in Dubai.

Meanwhile, let’s look at important stats and numbers ahead of the 49th game of the Indian Premier League 2021:

Head to Head record: KKR are way ahead of SRH in terms of head-to-head record in IPL. In 20 clashes, the two-time champions have won 13 games the Sunrisers emerged winners just seven times.

29Eoin Morgan needs 29 runs to become the 13th player to complete 1000 runs for KKR in IPL.

5 – Dinesh Karthik needs 5 runs to become the 8th Indian and 11th overall to slam 4000 runs in IPL.

25 – Jason Roy is 25 runs shy of completing 1000 T20 runs in 2021.

3 – Wriddhiman Saha needs 3 catches to reach 100 catches as wicketkeeper in T20 cricket.

7 – Andre Russell is 7 hits away from completing 150 sixes in IPL.

74 – Sunil Narine can complete 1000 IPL runs for KKR. He’s 74 runs away from the milestone. Narine would become the first all-rounder to score over 1000 runs and take over 100 wickets for KKR in IPL.

4 – Dinesh Karthik needs 4 dismissals to become the second wicketkeeper to inflict 150 dismissals in IPL. MS Dhoni (156) is currently the lone holder of the record.

9 – Manish Pandey is 9 runs away from completing 3,500 runs in IPL.

26 – Pandey also needs 26 runs to complete 6000 runs in T20 cricket.

2– Shahbaz Nadeem needs just two wickets to complete 50 wickets in IPL.

193 – Iyer’s tally of 193 runs is the joint-most for any KKR batter after the first five innings. Jacques Kallis also had as many runs after the first five games.
