Rohit Sharma, in a recent practice session, imitated former legends and Mumbai Indians players Sachin Tendulkar, Mahela Jayawardene and Harbhajan Singh. In a video posted on the official Instagram account of the franchise, the 34-year-old can be seen asking his fans to guess the players he is emulating.

“π™΅πš›πš’πšŽπš—πšπšœ. πšƒπšŽπšŠπš– πš–πšŠπšπšŽπšœ. π™»πšŽπšπšŽπš—πšπšœ! Let’s see if you can guess all 3 cricketers in this Reel. Stay tuned for part 2”, Mumbai Indians captioned the post. Rohit starts with Tendulkar, as he first copies his stance and follows that with a shadow straight drive. He follows that with Jayawardene’s stance before copying the bowling action of off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and appealing to the umpire in his trademark style.

Mumbai Indians’ playoff hopes hang by a thread

Mumbai have not had the best of campaigns in the current edition of the Indian Premier League and are still reliant on plenty of things to fall their way for a qualification. They will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in a must-win encounter, which is also is also going to be the final league fixture of the season.

The team is coming fresh after a thumping victory over Rajasthan Royals in the previous encounter, as they first restricted their opponents for a paltry total of 90/9 before chasing down the target with eight wickets and a massive 70 balls to spare on the back of 25-ball 50 from Ishan Kishan. The victory means Mumbai have done their tanking net run rate a huge favour, although their hopes rely on the KKR’s encounter against RR on October 7 as a KKR win would end their qualification hopes.

β€œWe had to come here and do what we had to do, which was to get the two points… It was a chance to improve our run rate as well. We got off to a flier, and we said there is a chance for us to up the run rate. It was the perfect game for us to do that,” Rohit said after his team’s win against the Royals.

β€œWe have been doing well and preparing well. All the bowlers came together and used the conditions well. [On playing SRH in the end] All eight teams are capable of beating each other. But the good thing is that KKR play before us, so we know what to do,” he added.
