IPL 2021: Top 5 uncapped Indian players to watch out for in the auction
The recently-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy has given a clear picture to the franchises on which all players are in form.
3. Lukman Meriwala
Baroda surprised a few teams to enter the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament final this year. It happened on the back of some really strong performances in all three departments of the game. Lukman Meriwala was their top bowler during this time and his bowling was one of the major reasons why Baroda successfully beat teams which they weren’t expected to beat.
The left-arm fast bowler played eight matches during this tournament and picked up 15 wickets. His bowling average during the tournament was 13.57. The fact that he is a left-arm Indian pacer is one of the reasons why we feel he might attract a few bidders during the auction. In recent times, many teams have preferred having a left-arm pacer in their attack just for a little variety.
On top of this, Meriwala’s bowling record in T20s is incredible. He has played 44 matches so far and picked 72 wickets at an average of 14.54. He has an excellent economy of 6.72 along with a bowling strike rate of 12.9. These numbers are simply outstanding and can’t be ignored for too long by the IPL franchises.
