IPL 2022: 3 Players to avoid in fantasy teams for GT vs LSG game
Hardik Pandya would be making his captaincy debut in this game.
In the fourth match of the IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans will take on the Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Both the teams would be making their debut in the tournament and will be hoping for a positive start. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya would also be making his captaincy debut in this game. Hardik is the captain of the Titans and was one of the three players that the team picked before the mega auction. His cricketing career has grown under three of the recent Indian captains, and it would be interesting to see whose approach he follows in this tournament.
On the other hand, KL Rahul would be leading the Super Giants. Rahul was earlier associated with Punjab Kings and captained the side for the last two seasons. The Kings finished in the sixth position in both the years. The Super Giants have assembled a star-studded squad, and it’s going to be interesting to see which players make the final playing XI.
Here are 3 players you can avoid in your fantasy teams for the GT vs LSG game:
1. Wriddhiman Saha
Gujarat Titans bought the services of Wriddhiman Saha for a price of INR 1.9 crores in the auction. Chennai Super Kings was the other team that was interested to pick Saha. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he could score only 73 runs in five matches. Saha made 131 runs in nine games at an average of 14.55 and a strike rate of 93.57 in the previous edition of the IPL. You have the option of picking KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, and Matthew Wade as the wicketkeeper of your fantasy team. Hence, it would be better if you avoid Saha.
2. Vijay Shankar
Vijay Shankar made his IPL debut back in 2017 and managed to score 101 runs at a strike rate of 134.66. Next season, his strike rate increased to 143.24, and he managed to score 212 runs in 13 matches. But, since 2019 there has been a sharp decline in his strike rate and he could make runs at a strike rate of 111.53 in the last edition of the tournament. The Titans have invested INR 1.4 crores to pick him in the team. But, the team already has players like Hardik Pandya, David Miller, and Rahul Tewatia. Hence, it is difficult to predict Vijay’s role in the team. You can avoid him and look towards other all-rounders in your fantasy team.
3. Andrew Tye
Lucknow Super Giants have roped in Tye to replace injured Mark Wood. Tye had a great 2018 season when he managed to pick 24 wickets in 14 matches. But, since then, he has managed to pick only four wickets in seven matches. LSG also have picked Dushmantha Chameera, and he might make it to the final playing XI. You can avoid Tye in your fantasy team for this game.
