The spin-bowling magician from Sri Lanka emerged as the backbone of RCB’s bowling lineup in IPL 2022. He had some really good days for RCB this season. Wanindu’s variations were unplayable by most of the batters during the middle-overs. He was probably the main reason for RCB sustaining till Qualifier two of the 15th edition of IPL.

Wanindu finished second in the race of the Purple Cap and was just one wicket short of crowning the Purple Cap on his head. Hasaranga picked 26 wickets in 16 games this season at an average of 16.54. He claimed a five-wicket haul too. He did bowl the difficult overs in the tournament and delivered most of the time for his team.

The Galle cricketer came to the IPL with a big price tag of 10.75 CR and was RCB’s most expensive buy at the mega auction. He did not upset the franchise and performed like a star. Hasaranga came in to play the season with a great form in addition to his skills. He has been a consistent performer for Sri Lanka in white-ball cricket and has a great future ahead of him.
