David Willey did feature in the initial few games for RCB, but the English all-rounder hardly got any chances as the season progressed. The left-arm pacer was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore at the auction, and given his experience, he was expected to at least play a bigger role in RCB’s campaign in IPL 2022.

Bangalore has another left-arm overseas pacer in the form of Jason Behrendorff, who they might give preference to going into the next season. As such, one can expect David Willey to be released by the franchise, heading into the 2023 IPL Auction.

In four outings this season, David Willey has managed to pick up just the one wicket, which is surely not a good record to have on your resume. This probably might be the last time, we are seeing the Englishman play IPL.
