A lot of eyebrows were raised when RCB went after Hasaranga in place of Chahal at the auction earlier this year. Hasaranga, has done well to justify his team’s decision as he sits on top of the purple cap leaderboard with 23 wickets to his name, and the person occupying the second spot is none other than Chahal himself with the same number of wickets.

This week itself, Hasaranga has managed to pick up seven wickets in just two games. He ran through SRH’s middle and lower order as he recorded his best IPL figures of 5-18. Against Punjab too, he picked up a couple of wickets and was quite economical, as he gave away only 15 runs from his quota of four overs.

An explosive batter at number eight, Hasaranga can hit the ball a long way, Although this week he got to bat only once and couldn’t do much. RCB would be hoping he starts contributing with the bat as well going forward.
