IPL 2022: Best starting playing XI of Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad was seen having a clear strategy for the 2022 IPL auction. They started their auction at a very slow rate. They even did not try to bid for any player in the first session of the event. But when they started to take the auction on, then none of the other teams were able to match them. They were seen backing their older players the most. The Hyderabad-based franchise bought a total of 20 players during the auction. Their most expensive buy was Nicholas Pooran as the franchise sealed Nicholas Pooran for 10.75 CR. The other big purchases of SRH were Washington Sundar, T Natarajan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. SRH entered the cash-rich league in the 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League. Out of nine seasons so far, they have reached the playoffs six times. The franchise retained Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad, and Umran Malik ahead of the mega auction so their squad size is now 23 players. SRH have lost their two biggest match-winners in the 15th season. David Warner and Rashid Khan will not play for the franchise anymore and filling those two big positions will be very tough. He is likely to open the batting for the franchise in the 2022 season. The lad has been one of the under-rated batters in the tournament. He started his IPL career with Rising Pune Supergiants under MS Dhoni. The batter then moved to Rajasthan Royals and then to Kolkata Knight Riders. The franchise bought him for 8.50 CR after a long bidding war with Kolkata Knight Riders. Tripathi has played 62 games in the cash-rich league and has scored 1385 runs. He was an important bloke in KKR’s middle-order for the last few seasons. Rahul’s role will be very crucial for the franchise. 2. Kane Williamson (c) Kane Williamson. Having a batter of his caliber in the lineup is one of the biggest positives for SRH. He is a technically sound batter, a great fielder, and his captaincy skills are just spot on. Kane is playing for SRH for years now and he has become an integral member of the franchise. The Kiwi batter has played 63 IPL games and has scored 1885 runs at a splendid average of 40.11. He was the leading run-scorer in the 2018 season and was awarded the orange cap. He has a lot of experience in captaining at the highest level. In the absence of David Warner, Kane will have a bigger role to play in the upcoming season and the SRH fans will expect him to lift the IPL title. 3. Aiden Markram Aiden Markram. SRH will need an anchor in their middle-order who can take the game forward and let the other batters play around him. Markram can do this job for SRH. Aiden has been playing for South Africa for a long time now and he has the experience of doing this job. Markram is yet to prove his mettle in the Indian T20 carnival but he has done well in the other tournaments. The other dimension of Aiden as a cricketer is his fielding. He is continuing the legacy of the gun South African fielding after Jonty Rhodes, AB de Villiers, and Faf du Plessis. He stands like a wall on the boundary rope and is one of the safest fielders in the world. 4. Nicholas Pooran (wk) Nicholas Pooran. (Photo Source: Twitter) Nicholas Pooran was SRH’s most expensive seal in the mega auction. Pooran is an attacking left-handed batter from the Caribbean islands. He is one of the best strikers of the cricket ball around the globe. He is known for hitting bix sixes like the other West Indies stars. The West Indies players have had a legacy in the league. The likes of Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, and Dwayne Bravo have been fabulous. Pooran will try to follow in the footsteps of his heroes. Nicholas was there in the Punjab Kings’ side for a few recent seasons. He has played 33 IPL games and has scored 606 runs. The best thing about him is that he bats at a strike rate of 154.99. Nicholas Pooran also has good wicket-keeping skills which makes him a valuable player and a great T20 package. 5. Abdul Samad Abdul Samad. He is one of the very few young Indian batters who can strike the cricket balls for really big maximums. Abdul has hammered the top international bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada, and Pat Cummins for big sixes. The Jammu and Kashmir batter was very impressive in the games he played for the Sunrisers. The big-muscled batter hits big sixes effortlessly which is very rare among the Indian batters. He will have the responsibility of the SRH’s middle-order for the coming seasons and the next season too. SRH have invested in him and will want him to win games for them. 6. Abhishek Sharma Abhishek Sharma. (Photo Source: IPL/BCCI) The Punjab all-rounder is rated very highly by the cricket experts due to his multi-dimensional gameplay. He has had very few appearances in the league but he will surely get a longer run in the playing 11. Three of the IPL franchises went for him in the auction. Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Sunrisers Hyderabad were involved in the bidding war which was eventually won by SRH. Abhishek was a member of the winning Indian side at the U19 World Cup 2018. Before that tournament, he won the Emerging Asia Cup as a captain for India. He has the ability to perform at a big stage like IPL. He is a fearless stroke player and is very reliable with the ball in hand. The franchise will want him to finish games for them and his contribution will be very valuable. 7. He was bought by the Sunrisers for a whopping sum of 7.75 CR in the mega IPL auction for the 15th season. With a natural ability to bowl fast, the player is also gifted with a great height that provides him extra bounce on any surface. Romario also has the ability to score necessary quickfire runs down the order. He showcased what he can do with the bat in the recently concluded England T20I series. Romario has played 14 T20Is for the West Indies and has scored 117 runs in five innings at an incredible strike rate of 160.27. His all-round skills will be very helpful for SRH in the coming season. SRH has shown faith in him by picking him for such a big amount so he will have an added responsibility on him. 8. Washington Sundar Washington Sundar. (Photo: IANS) Wahington Sundar was a vital cog for Royal Challengers Bangalore for the last few seasons. He has done bowling well in the powerplay and in the middle-overs. Washington Sundar has done well for India too. He has been involved in some finest recent victories of India in international cricket. RCB looked quite sad when they lost the bidding war for him during the auction. Sundar is a valuable T20 cricketer. Alongside his effective off-spin, he is also handy with the bat. Washington has played 42 IPL games and has picked 27 wickets. He has scored 217 runs in 26 innings in the cash-rich league. The best thing about him is his economy rate. He has a career economy of 6.94 in IPL despite being a spinner and despite bowling in the powerplay. SRH will find ways to utilize him. 9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar Bhuvneshwar Kumar. (Photo Source: Twitter) Bhuvneshwar Kumar has not been the wing king we know for a few years. He is one of the most successful bowlers in the history of IPL. A few years back, Bhuvi was spitting fire while bowling as je won the purple cap twice in successive seasons. He is the only Indian bowler to win the purple cap twice in the IPL. His contribution has been vital for SRH through the years. The Meerut-born pacer has played 132 IPL games and has a total of 142 wickets to his name at a fantastic bowling average of 25.27. He will surely complete his 150 IPL wickets in the 2022 season. Bhuvi is one of the most experienced Indian fast bowlers currently and like every IPL season, he will lead the SRH pace attack in this season too. Hopefully, he will get back to his original form. 10. Shreyas Gopal Shreyas Gopal. (Photo Source: Twitter) After the departure of Rashid Khan from the squad, the franchise needed a quality wrist-spinner to give important breakthroughs in the middle-overs. They have decided to invest in Shreyas Gopal. The Karnataka Spinner has been around for a while. He has been playing IPL for years and has good experience of playing T20 cricket. He is a regular feature for Karnataka in domestic tournaments. The 28-year old leggie has played 48 IPL games and has 48 dismissals to his name. He has good bowling records against most of the teams. He has had a quality of time playing for Rajasthan Royals and he was a useful bowler for them. Shreyas has been a part of the tournament since 2014 and he will hopefully play many more seasons. Shreyas can prove to be an asset for the franchise. 11. T Natarajan T Natarajan. (Photo Source: IPL/BCCI) T Natarajan is known for bowling toe-crushing yorkers. The Tamil Nadu bowler’s first big appearance was in the Tamil Nadu Premier League where he was troubling the batters for fun. Natarajan’s bowling skills are superb and he will take the responsibility for the death overs. Natarajan is a complete T20 pacer and the quality he brings with his skills is very rare. The left-hand pacer made his IPL debut for Punjab Kings in the 2017 season against the Rising Pune Supergiants. He joined the SRH franchise in the 2018 season and has been there since that time. He made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 2021 and was very Impressive and dedicated. His records in the shortest format of the game are enough to know how good he is.
