Tim David was a big-name purchase by the Mumbai Indians. The lower-order batter has a reputation for hitting the big shots and he has earned a name for himself after competing in various T20 leagues in the world. He has failed in both outings presented to him so far, which has seen him being dropped out of the side for the third game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Singaporean batter managed to score just 1 run against Rajasthan Royals at a crucial juncture in a 194-run chase. David was dismissed after facing just three deliveries, as Mumbai Indians lost a cluster of wickets. In the first game against the Capitals, he scored 12 runs off eight balls, losing his wicket just before the final over of the first innings. Given his reputation as a big hitter, he is sure to get an opportunity at some point later in the tournament.
