Punjab had Liam Livingstone and Shikhar Dhawan to their rescue this season but still were unable to qualify for the playoffs. After Arshdeep’s amazing bowling spells, other youngsters in the dressing room must be pumped up to perform from next year onwards. Ansh Patel was one of the players who couldn’t get a single game this season.

Atharva Taide from Vidharba who was bought for INR 20 lakhs for his left-handed all-round abilities was also overlooked. Benny Howell, a right-handed allrounder also never made it in the playing XI this season. Writtick Chatterjee, the Bengal right-handed batsman has played 27 T20s and has over 260 runs and 21 wickets against his name also couldn’t find a place in any of the games.

Also, Baltej Dhanda has impressed everyone with his performance in Ranji trophy for Punjab and might get a game next year. Ishan Porel played only one game last season. He has been improving steadily on the domestic front but didn’t get a game this time.
