IPL 2022: Team-wise worst pick of the tournament
Some players have failed to live up to the hopes of their franchises and have failed to prove their efficacy in the tournament so far.
9. Matthew Wade – Gujarat Titans
After the heroics in the last over the semi-final of the T20 world cup 2021, the fiery Matthew Wade was picked by the Gujarat Titans for a whopping INR 2.40 crore. He has proven himself to be one of the best opening batter any side could ask for. However, he has had a disappointing tournament so far.
Struggling with his form, Wade has been able to muster only 68 runs in the five innings. He was included in the squad in hopes of strengthening their batting line-up which lacks big names, unlike their bowling line-up. However, he failed to live up to his team’s expectations.
Wade has been an integral part of the Australian team, playing many brilliant knocks for his nation at crucial times. His recent well performance for Australia compelled the Gujarat selectors to bid for him.
