IPL: 5 Players Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) can retain after AB de Villiers' retirement
De Villiers joined RCB back in 2011 and was a stalwart for them.
3. Devdutt Padikkal
Ahead of the 2018 season, RCB took a pretty unlikely decision in which they decided to let go of KL Rahul. Now, there are reasons why this decision has been much of a debate. He has gone on to become one of the most celebrated batters for Punjab Kings and in the league overall. He could have a great reason for fan connect as well, given that he is a local lad.
Now, whether Rahul will ever return to the RCB franchise or not, that remains to be seen. However, in the meantime, RCB found Devdutt Padikkal, another young, talented, and local top-order batter. In the two seasons, he has been with them, the southpaw has been quite magnificent with the bat.
In 29 matches so far, he has scored 884 runs at an average of 31.57 with more than 400 runs in both seasons. He is just 21 years old now and has already shown signs of becoming one of the best batters in the country in the next few years. Given his potential and how long he can play for RCB, it would be a good decision to keep him in their squad.
