RCB has been one of the least successful IPL teams and is one of three active teams that haven’t lifted the title even once. They have made the playoffs on just six occasions in 13 seasons, and their struggles in the league need no further justification.

They have often been termed as an “unlucky” franchise as well, as several top players have failed to perform for the team, but have played extremely well after moving away. Players like Quinton de Kock, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Manish Pandey are among many who found success after leaving the club.

Thus, it is quite obvious that the franchise hasn’t had much luck over the years and it is hard to find players who have succeeded after joining them.

AB de Villiers is one of IPL’s greatest players of all time and few have impacted the league as he has. He’s been a prolific performer and has consistently destroyed bowling attacks during his IPL career.

The South African was with the Delhi Daredevils between 2008 and 2010 before moving to RCB in 2011. He had a good season with them in 2009, but that was sandwiched by two extremely poor outings as well. However, his fortunes changed after he went to RCB as he averaged less than 30 on just one occasion.

He has scored 4226 runs in 131 innings for RCB thus far, while scoring at nearly 160. ABD had his best campaign in 2016, when he scored 687 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 168.79.
