Exactly, after 13 months of India’s first lockdown due to outbreak of COVID-19, the country has found itself once again in a similar, or rather worse situation. The second wave of Coronavirus has hit India hard with more than 3 lakh cases per day being reported for the last six days. The fatality rate has also increased with a scarcity of Oxygen in most parts of the country.

During these tough times, several organisations and charitable trusts have come forward to help the people in need. With strict lockdowns coming back again in most of the states, the poor people are the ones who are getting affected. To help such people and the ones affecting by COVID-19, former India cricketers Irfan and Yusuf Pathan’s father, Mehmood Khan is providing free food through his charitable trust.

Yusuf Pathan posted the same informing his followers in his Instagram story. This isn’t the first time, the Pathan family has come forward to help during this crisis time. On several occasions, they have been kind enough making sure that they extend their helping hands towards the poor.

Irfan and Yusuf donated masks and Vitamin C tablets last year

Irfan and Yusuf Pathan had donated 4000 masks to the local administration in Baroda and those were distributed among the people in city. The two brothers had also donated Vitamin C tablets to Vadodara Police last year to boost their immunity as they were working day and night to impose a proper lockdown in the state. Vadodara Police had also thanked the two cricketer for their heart-warming gesture.

As far as COVID-19 second wave is concerned, it didn’t even spare Irfan and Yusuf. Both the cricketers played in the Road Safety World Series for the India Legends. Unfortunately, several cricketers of the team including Irfan, Yusuf and Sachin Tendulkar contracted the virus after the tournament.

India Legends won the inaugural RSWS as some of the top players took the field and rolled back the clock to send the fans into a frenzy. Currently, Irfan is a part of the commentary panel in the ongoing IPL 2021.
