It's been a long journey, my aspirations are to finish IPL in KKR colours: Sunil Narine
Sunil Narine has been with the KKR franchise since his IPL debut in 2012.
Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Sunil Narine will be playing his 150th game for his franchise against the Rajasthan Royals and he addressed the special moment by answering questions about his journey in the cash-rich tournament. Narine is among the top wicket-takers in the tournament history and has proved to be a match-winner with the ball since making his IPL debut in 2012. He has been retained by the KKR franchise ahead of every mega auction since his debut.
The 33-year-old came into the limelight after his extraordinary performances in CPL as his mystery spin had proved to be very effective for his team. Despite being part of the tournament for a long time, Narine has always been difficult to go hard at for the batters and his economy rate of 6.67 is a testimony of his legendary performances.
Hopefully after my playing career, I can join the team as a bowling coach: Sunil Narine
Narine mentioned that it has been a long journey with KKR and expressed his desire to finish his IPL career with the franchise where he had started. He hoped that he will be roped in as a bowling coach by the KKR franchise once he ends his playing career. Narine has picked up four wickets in six games for KKR at an excellent economy rate of 5.00 this season.
“It’s a long journey, 150 games and continuing. My aspirations are to finish the IPL in KKR colours and hopefully after my playing career, I can join the team as a bowling coach because I have been doing so much of bowling and learning about the action in terms of what helps and what doesn’t. I think I want to give back and hopefully, the door is open and continue to be back in the Purple and Gold,” Narine was quoted as saying by KKR’s official website.
