England batsman James Vince has been retained for the fourth and final Test against Pakistan at The Oval in spite of an injury while fielding during the final day of the third Test at Edgbaston. James Vince reportedly suffered an injury to his finger whilst fielding at the slips when he attempted to field a ball that had a great deal of dodgy bounce. A spokesperson within the England side stated that the finger had indeed been dislocated, however, he also added that it had been relocated as well.

“It was dislocated but it`s all fine (now),” the spokesman added. “It was relocated (put back).”

With Vince back to almost full fitness prior to the start of the fourth Test, England are more than expected to field yet another strong XI for the final Test. Having gone behind by one match at Lord’s in the opening Test, the English players showed phenomenal fighting spirit as well as true grit to make a statement and come back with wins in the subsequent two matches at Old Trafford and Edgbaston. Alastair Cook added that the Edgbaston win was ‘right up there’ with the rest of the wins, especially after managing to bowl out a resolute Pakistan batting unit on the final day of the third Test.

England has also chosen to stick with Nottinghamshire pacer Jake Ball for the fourth Test with Steven Finn not proving to be as effective as people thought he would be. Adil Rashid has also been retained in the squad.

Squad: Alastair Cook (Essex, capt), Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire), Joe Root (Yorkshire), James Vince (Hampshire), Gary Ballance (Yorkshire), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire, wkt.), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Steven Finn (Middlesex), James Anderson (Lancashire), Jake Ball (Nottinghamshire), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire)
