The way Jimmy Neesham has performed for New Zealand this year, it would not be very wrong to say that any team would love to have him in its ranks. The New Zealand all-rounder has made a big impression with both bat and ball since returning to international cricket. In the summer, he played an important role in New Zealand’s march to the final of the World Cup.

Neesham is also very popular amid cricket fans especially because of his exploits in social media. The star all-rounder’s tweets are a big hit among the fans. Unsurprisingly, several fans have made it clear that they want to see Neesham play in their country. In the last few days, he has been asked several times about whether he is interested in IPL and the allrounder came up with some interesting answers.

He is a part of the list of the players who will go under the hammer during the auction on December 19. But while Neesham looks set to make a comeback to IPL, he decided against playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The draft for the next edition of PSL took place on 6th of this month and Neesham was not a part of it.

Thus one fan recently asked him the reason behind his decision to skip the tournament in Pakistan. In reply, the allrounder clearly stated that the international commitment would not give him the time to ply his trade in the PSL. Neesham made it clear that the home season would stop him from playing in the league early next year.

Jimmy Neesham’s IPL career

Jimmy Neesham, nonetheless, is not new to playing in the IPL. While he is set to be one of the biggest attractions in the upcoming auction, he definitely knows a thing or two about playing in the lucrative league. In the past, he was part of Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Kolkata Knight Riders.

In 2014, the Delhi-based franchise picked up but released him after just one season. In the following season, he was picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders, but did not play a single match for them due to injury and was dropped from the squad the very next season. Neesham has not been a part of any IPL team since then.
