Kevin Pietersen lashes out at Emirates Airline for misplacing his luggage
Pietersen said that there were multiple lapses in the airlines' services which led him to take to social media to vent out his frustration
Former England explosive batsman Kevin Pietersen was recently seen travelling from the United Kingdom to Melbourne via Dubai for the Big Bash League cricket. During the journey, the airlines which he was travelling with misplaced his bag leaving the cricketer totally furious.
Pietersen had travelled to England to spend the Christmas holidays with his family and was returning to Australia. The former right-handed batsman is currently playing for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League and is also part of the commentary box for the Ashes.
When asked about the same, Pietersen said that there were multiple lapses in the airlines’ services which led him to take to social media to vent out his frustration. The reasons quoted by him included skipping of pick up, delay in flight and forgetting his bag in Dubai. His flight from London to Dubai was delayed, with the 13-hour flight not even having a television set which angered the former England skipper.
Pietersen lost his cool
Upon landing in the Australian city, Melbourne, Pietersen lost it when he could not find his belongings. After going through these discomforts he couldn’t control his displeasure and took to Twitter to lash out at the airlines. “How do I work on international TV in a few hours with no clothes?” he asked, ranting on the airlines. Though he let it go when the airlines offered him the Emirates credit card for buying clothes for his TV appearance.
Also, Pietersen was involved with commentary duties in the clash between the Melbourne Renegades and Perth Scorchers. Twitter trolled the English international, as a few of them suggested that they muted their TV sets whenever he opened his mouth for commentary.
It is a comedy of errors for the former English international during his time at his rival country Australia. Pietersen has always got the tough welcomes in Australia, even during his playing days. However, this welcome has to be the toughest of all as it left the batsman almost naked for the commentary box duties.
