Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen was partially arrested today, as he had a golf swing at the airport of Geneva, Switzerland. Pietersen posted a picture on Twitter, where he can be seen sitting in a cell at the airport. The temperamental cricketer often makes the headline for his antics.

Pietersen, who was one of the finest cricketers to have played the game was snubbed from the English squad in 2014. He is now looking to represent the South African side in two years time. The right-handed batsman was dropped from the squad, post the 2013-14 defeat against Australia in the Ashes. The ECB hasn’t really spoken wise about the cricketer and his time with the English cricket is believed to be very much over.

Golf skills got him in trouble

It seems Pietersen showcased his golfing skills at the airport for which he has been ticked. The cricketer has earlier announced his retirement from English County. Pietersen resigned with county for this summer but got injured and therefore played just two games. “Surrey’s loss last night means the end of career in England. What an amazing journey,” he posted on Twitter.

The 37-year old never holds himself back from making statements, and recently he made a bold one. “I tried too hard to be English when I played for England. I always got annoyed when people said I was South African. I concerned myself all the time with what can I say, can I talk differently? But you have to accept, you are what you are. When I played for England I played to win and I was proud to wear the Three Lions but am I English? No, I’m South African.” he said.

The South African-born player has had issues with the English board as well as players. In his autobiography, Pietersen took digs at several players and criticized them for several reasons.
