Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are going to be India's biggest strength in World Cup: Virat Kohli
He also lauded the duo the way they fit into the team seamlessly.
The cricketing fraternity is going to witness the biggest extravaganza of cricket history in just a few weeks. The ICC World Cup 2019 is all set kick off from 30th March at the Kennington Oval in London. Like most of the teams, India also announced the squad earlier this week and among all, their wrist spinners, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, will play a huge role in England on the flat decks.
The duo has given the batsmen from all over the world, a run for their money and are likely to play a huge role for India in the upcoming World Cup. There’s no denying to the fact that if the Men in Blue has to lift the silverware, then the two will have to vanquish the batting line-up of the opponents.
The Indian skipper Virat Kohli, in a recent interview with India Today, also opened up about the duo’s performance and explained about how important they’ll be whilst going into the World Cup. Kuldeep and Chahal are arguably the two best wrist-spinners of the cricketing world, at the moment and the Indian Skipper was heard admiring the wristies to the fullest.
“Of course, it’s going to be our main strength (the wrist-spin duo of Kuldeep and Chahal). We are going to play one team at one time. It’s not like a bilateral series where they can figure the variations out and come back in the next game. We are playing a different team every game,” Kohli said.
It’s about bowling in partnerships
Virat Kohli further admired the duo’s scintillating skill-set and their capability of striking wickets during middle overs. He appreciated the confidence and flair displayed by them despite being young and talked about how outstanding they have been ever since they made the debut for India in white ball cricket.
“They are taking wickets in the middle overs. That’s something we were lacking for a long, long time before. We never struggled in the death overs because of what they do in the middle overs. It’s all about bowling partnerships. They have come into the team beautifully and doing the job beautifully for us,” the 30-year-old added.
