Kuldeep Yadav can be the find of the season even after playing just one Test match. The first chinaman for India to play Test cricket and he was phenomenal in the first innings as he snatched four important wickets. Brad Hogg who has mentored the young man while playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders believes that Kuldeep has a fantastic attitude.

Hogg said he has enjoyed his time with the 22-year-old while coaching him at Kolkata Knight Riders and believes he will be a great player for India. The Australian chinaman said, “I have always enjoyed my interactions with Kuldeep. He has a fantastic attitude which is just so refreshing.“

He said that Kuldeep is a great learner and has a big heart. Hogg further said, “The thing that catches your attention is that he constantly looks to get better at his craft. He has a big heart and always looks to outfox the batsmen like he did in Dharamshala. As a spinner you want to see someone who is constantly testing the batsmen.”

Former Indian left-arm spinner and a great himself Bishan Singh Bedi had earlier said that T20 cricket may ruin Kuldeep and his talent can be wasted. However, Hogg believes otherwise. He thinks that the more you put Kuldeep under pressure the more he will yield. Having played with him the veteran knows a thing or two about the Kanpur-lad.

The Australian Chinaman said while talking to Times of India: “No, I don’t agree with that at all. I think he should be put under constant pressure all the time and I firmly believe that he can handle it. He is young and if things don’t go his way, he has got the mental aptitude to go away – think about it, learn from it – and come back stronger. I think he is a fantastic prospect for India and has a great future ahead of him.”

Hogg was confused as to who to support. On one side it was his home team Australia playing and the on the other side it was his student who was bowling well. He did not know whether to be happy or frustrated about the same.
