Kyle Jarvis has been one of the most successful bowlers for Lancashire in the last few years. He has been taking wickets by a bunch. He has won quite a few matches for the County side and is loved by the fans as well. Jarvis is one of those regular members of the team in all the formats of the game.

The 28-year-old is their leading wicket-taker and accounted 50 wickets in both 2015 and 2016 seasons. He did not stop there as he snatched another 37 in 2017 for Lancashire in the County Championship. He averages 22 for them and is one of the main reasons why Lancashire is playing in the top flight right now.

Kyle helped them win a promotion back to Division One among the elites. He has never looked back since then. However, he has decided to move on now, he has taken a very tough decision of leaving Lancashire.

Jarvis to play for Zimbabwe

Jarvis has compromised his County career and will now play international cricket for Zimbabwe. The decision sounds fair and even the board of Lancashire respects it. The head coach Glen Chapple wishes him the best.

“The Club completely respects Kyle’s wishes to go back home and play international cricket for Zimbabwe and it’s a great opportunity for him to show what he can do against some of the best players in the world,” Glen was quoted by LancashireCC.

“We are obviously going to miss Kyle in the changing room and on the pitch. On behalf of the whole coaching staff, players and everyone at the Club, I’d like to wish Kyle every success in the future. He will always be welcomed back to Emirates Old Trafford,” the head coach said.

Kyle looks forward and upward

Jarvis said that he loved his time at Old Trafford and will miss the place dearly. He also sounded proud to have represented a club with history and class. He admitted that the decision to move back to Zimbabwe was tough but he is looking forward to it as well.

The 28-year-old said, “I have absolutely loved my time at Lancashire over the last four years. It’s a very special place and I have made some fantastic friends here. I am immensely proud to have played a part in the history of this great Club. I would like to thank everyone that for making me feel part of it.

“It has been a really hard decision to make to return to Zimbabwe, but the opportunity to return home and play international cricket is something that I really want to do,” Kyle said.

He also thanked his coach and the teammates. He wished them luck for the future as well. “There is a fantastic group of players in the Lancashire changing room and I wish them all the very best of luck in the years ahead,” he said.

“I would also like to thank Glen Chapple and the Club for releasing me, and I wish them well, in what is a hugely exciting time for Lancashire as a whole, both on the playing perspective and how they are to grow the game in the county,” Jarvis concluded.
