Colin Munro began the year 2018 on a sensational note with an 18-ball fifty on the New Year Day and followed it with a 53-ball 104 to become the first player in T20I history to score three hundreds. Munro went berserk at the Mount Maunganui as he hit ten sixes during his innings. He put on 136 for the opening stand with Martin Guptill and helped his team to post a record 243/5 on the board.

1 – Colin Munro is now the first player to score three centuries in the T20I format. All his three T20I tons came in his last nine innings in the past one year.
1 – Colin Munro became the first centurion in International cricket in 2018. He was also the first player to hit a four, six and a fifty in 2018.
2 – Munro is only the 2nd player after Virat Kohli to score three fifty-plus scores in a bilateral T20I series. He scored 53 and 66 in the first two T20Is of this series. Munro is also the first New Zealander to score three fifty-plus scores in a T20I series/tournament.
3 – Munro is now the third New Zealand player after Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill to score fifty-plus scores in three consecutive innings. McCullum scored in four consecutive innings while Guptill had two such streaks.
4 – Number of times Colin Munro hit seven and more sixes in the T20I format. All other Kiwi players managed to do hit 7+ sixes on three occasions. Overall, only Chris Gayle (5 times) has hit seven and more sixes in a T20I innings as many times as Munro.
4 – Number of centuries in Twenty20 cricket for Munro. These are the 2nd most number of hundreds in the T20 format by a New Zealand player. Brendon McCullum scored seven centuries in the Twenty20 format.
10 – Colin Munro’s ten sixes in this innings are the joint most by a New Zealand player in a T20I inning. Corey Anderson hit ten sixes in the T20I against Bangladesh last year at the same venue.
15 – Munro’s 15 sixes in this series are the joint most by any player in a bilateral T20I series. Richard Levi in the series against New Zealand in 2012 and Chris Gayle against Windies in 2015 hit 15 sixes each.
47 – His 47-ball century is the fastest among the six centuries recorded by New Zealand players in the T20I format. Brendon McCullum’s 50-ball century against Australia in 2010 is the previous fastest hundred.
223 – Colin Munro’s 223 runs in this series against the Windies are the most by any player in a bilateral T20I series. He went past Hamilton Masakadza’s tally of 222 runs in a 4-match series against Bangladesh in 2016.
