Mumbai Indians team-mate Mitchell McClenaghan caught up with his skipper Rohit Sharma in Mumbai today and it appears like the two had a great time. McClenaghan also met with other team-mates including Jasprit Bumrah and shared a picture for the same.

Interestingly, the Black Caps are set to begin their tour of India, next week but McClenaghan is not in the squad. He’s in India, which he refers to as ‘home away from home’ for the show Behind The Seam which will also feature Rohit, Bumrah and Mitchell for a cricket chat. During his time here, he shared multiple posts on Instagram and Twitter about his stay and the show.

Rohit Sharma also shared videos with McClenaghan and one of those included the Kiwi speaking the few Hindi words he knew. Among those he knew were “thanda paani” and a signature “nai, nai, nai.” Rohit translated the meaning of those and the two could be seen having a good time.

What’s happening on the field…

In August, McClenaghan requested to terminate his New Zealand Cricket contract so he could work as a T20 freelancer. The 31-year-old left-armer chose contract work in overseas leagues over earning a regular salary.

In fact, he made the most of his freedom almost immediately, by signing a contract to play in this summer’s Australian Big Bash. The left-arm paceman will play for the Sydney Thunder in his first T20 contract signed after his request to be released was granted.

Rohit and Bumrah, on the other hand, are relaxing on their days off before they start prepping for the Kiwi challenge after a positive encounter against Australia in the last few weeks. The opener and the fast-bowler are in the squad for the ODI series, in all likelihood, will also be a part of the T20I series that will follow.
