MPCA CEO exposed for lying about the website hack
The website was hacked ahead of the third ODI between India and Australia.
The chief executive officer of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has been exposed for lying about the fact that the website was not hacked. MPCA came under the scanner when the news of its official website being hacked by the Pakistani hacker was revealed. The situation was embarrassing for the cricket association as they were gearing up for the India vs Australia clash. Also, the demand for tickets was increasing ahead of the game.
The hacker describing themselves as ‘Rizi Haxor’ hacked the website, identified as www.mpcaonline.com. The officials learnt about it a couple of days ahead of the ongoing third ODI between India and Australia. The entire arrangement of the game could have been in severe doldrums if the databases would have been tampered with. But it didn’t develop into a major controversy as the match got underway without any hindrances.
Why did the CEO lie?
The Chief Executive Officer of MPCA Mr Pandit had denied any such reports of the website being hacked and stressed that it was under maintenance. However, the Cricket Age investigated the issue further along with the help of one of the best cyber expert of India Rohit Pawar. They have exposed the top brass of the association and have revealed that the website was hacked by the Pakistani hacker.
There were different messages on their homepage and one of them was, “Hello Admin, your website is zero per cent secure. Patch it or I will be back there. Don’t hate me, hate your security.” However, the reason for the hack is not clear yet. Rather it seems that he has warned the other cricket association websites that also serve the ticketing services for the big matches. Cricket Age has also shared some of the snapshots as the proof of the website being taken over by hackers from Pakistan.
