MSL T20 2018, Match 11, Paarl Rocks vs Cape Town Blitz, Match Prediction, Who will win the Match?
Paarl Rocks are still winless in the tournament.
The 11th match of the Mzansi Super League (MSL) will see two teams with contrasting fortunes facing off at the Boland Park. While the Paarl Rocks are reeling at the bottom of the points table with two losses after playing as many matches, the Cape Town Blitz are sitting pretty at the top five points clear of the second placed side. However, this match will be a quick turnaround for them after facing the Jozi Stars on Saturday.
The Rocks lost their opening game by just one run against the Spartans and then were hammered by the Stars. Both being the home games, they failed to capitalise and are the only team with no win in the competition. This is another home game for them and with their bowling attack in disarray having conceded more than 200 runs in both the matches, things aren’t looking good for this encounter either.
As far as the Blitz are concerned, they have gone from strength to strength so far. Having said that, momentum changes quickly in such tournaments and they would want to keep winning going forward. They have got right players for the situation who put their hand up in order to bail the team out of trouble. It will be interesting to see how they fare in this game.
Pitch and Conditions
The Boland Park will constantly have dark clouds over it while there are no chances of rain as of now. So far in the last two games, the scores of over 200 have been registered at this venue. The pitch is expected to be helpful for the batsmen once again and Paarl’s bowlers will have to come up with better plans.
Team Combinations
Paarl Rocks
The skipper Henry Davids is in good nick and with a decent middle-order to come, the Rocks have a formidable batting line-up. But their bowling is a huge concern. Moreover, Dwayne Bravo‘s departure has left the side in a strife and they don’t have more options as well. So the likes of BJorn Fortuin, David Wiese and Dane Paterson have to improve on their performance to give some chance to their batsmen.
Probable XI: Henry Davids (c), Michael Klinger, Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Patrick Kruger, Grant Thomson, David Wiese, Mangaliso Mosehle (wk), Eathan Bosch, Dane Paterson, Tshepo Moreki.
Cape Town Blitz
Well, this team looks very much settled. With Quinton de Kock joining the team, their batting is even strengthened. More importantly, the local players are firing for them. Janneman Malan has been one of the highlights of the season so far while the Pakistan duo of Asif Ali and Hussain Talat have played crucial roles in the previous couple of victories. The skipper Farhaan Behardien brings a lot of experience with him while Dale Steyn has led the bowling attack extremely well so far.
Probable XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Janneman Malan, Asif Ali, Hussain Talat, Farhaan Behardien (c), Andle Phehlukwayo, Ferisco Adams, George Linde, Malusi Siboto, Dale Steyn, Dane Piedt.
