My aim is to become the no.1 all-rounder: Imad Wasim
Apart from Imad, former skipper Misbah-ul-Haq was also awarded along with certain current players.
28-year-old Swansea born Pakistan cricketer Imad Wasim received the best T20 player of the year award at the PCB Awards last night in Lahore. The number one T20 bowler has said that he wants to focus on being the best. Imad has played 26 ODIs and 21 T20Is, picking 26 and 24 wickets respectively. His bowling average in ODIs is a bit on the higher side at 34.69.
The all-rounder was also asked if he intends to marry and settle down, to which Imad said no. He said that he has no such plans for the immediate future. ‘I am not getting married,’ he said. Imad played well in the last game against World XI, where he picked up two wickets and played a little cameo with the bat. But his efforts went in vain as World XI won the game by seven wickets. An unbeaten 69-run stand between opener Hashim Amla and all-rounder Thisara Perera took the visitors home with a ball to spare.
Imad aims at the no.1 all-rounder spot
“My aim is to become the number one all-rounder, bowler is just a bonus, so my aim is to become the best all- rounder in the world” stated Imad at PCB Awards 2017. The event was attended by former Pakistan cricketers and many other but former all-rounder Shahid Afridi and legendary cricketer Younis Khan stayed away from the event.
Earlier, the PCB chairman Najam Sethi had tried to close down the issues and had made efforts in convincing the former cricketers to mark their presence in the stadium as well as the award program. “We are hoping that all the three great cricketers will attend the function to further grace the occasion of the Independence Cup. We wanted to hold the function during an international series and now it is a perfect time to honor the great retired captains when 14 world-class players will be in Lahore,” the Dawn quoted Sethi as said earlier.
