Hardik Pandya, the talented Indian cricketer, had a rough start to 2019. He attended the popular show ‘Koffee With Karan’ and made some comments, which were deemed as sexist and misogynistic. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) didn’t take time in suspending him and KL Rahul, who was also a part of the show. Their career was, well and truly, on the line.

Going down the memory lane, Pandya said that after the incident, his family had to face abuses. The youngster said that people even went to the extent of making fun of his father after the latter gave an interview. A guilt-ridden Hardik reckons that his actions gave his family troubles.

That phase does not bother me any more: Hardik Pandya

“My family got abused. My father gave an interview post the incident and people made a mockery of it. What hurt me the most was my action caused my family problems, and that’s not acceptable,” Pandya was quoted as saying on Cricbuzz.

Hardik, eventually, made a return to Team India in the New Zealand tour and played the World Cup as well. Pandya told how he tried to make amends and stated that the dark phase doesn’t bother him for the time being. He also credited the ones, who helped him recover from the mishap.

“When that happened, I said to myself let’s just accept it and try to correct the mistake. If I would’ve not accepted that mistake, that part would have still been in me. That phase does not bother me any more because my family has accepted it,” he stated.

“I’m a family guy. Without family, I am no one. My family is my backbone. The Hardik Pandya you’re seeing right now is because of the people behind the scenes, looking after me. They make sure that I am mentally stable and I stay happy,” Pandya added.

Hardik’s life has taken a major turn in 2020. To start with, he got engaged to Serbian actress and model Natasa Stankovic. Recently, Hardik announced that he’s going to be a father soon. He also posted a picture where he can be seen, performing a ritual, which is similar to getting married.
